This poem is about trying to find and do the will of God with the Holy Spirit of Jesus and lavishing all the honor and glory to the world on Him.
Lavish the Glory on the Son 5/20/08

Oh Lord, I need Your strength and power,
I need Your knowledge and wisdom,
Without it I am all alone,
Am not fit for Your kingdom.

I want so much to "do it right,"
But my miserable ways fail.
It's only with Your Holy Spirit
Anything I do will prevail.

I come to You in these morning hours
To get You to fill my soul up,
To praise and honor and thank You,
To glorify You and worship.

I ask for Your guidance all day long,
For Your will to precede my own.
It is with heart, soul, mind, and will
That I proceed to Your throne.

Being there, my attention grows,
My senses are heightened as well,
And within our most holy space,
All earthly time stops as I dwell.

We sit so long, just You and I,
And with me in that captive state,
Your Presence is felt deep within,
Your majesty nothing can equate.

You bring to mind so many things,
That have or have not been done,
Letting me know that in them all
I must include Your Son.

By His Spirit I must be led,
For things to be done as You wish,
Because on Him all the glory,
You want the whole world to lavish.
