I used to let Satan
Rule in my life
I drank and drugged
Cheated and lied
I believed what he said
About me and God
I was a fool
Nothing, a sot
You called me to open
My Bible one day
And see what God
Had to say
He loved and sent
His Son to save me
From all of my sins
And set me free
His sacrifice broke
Through my heart so bright
How His love changed me
His Truth brought me Light
I then had the choice
Of what to believe
The rotten of Satan
Or the Lord to relieve
What seemed the better
Was only a lark
Because God had given
From His heart
For only His best
And left behind
All the rest
He lets me have trials
To prove Himself True
He's always here
And pulls me through
It was He
Who put the rainbow
In the sky
And promised every
Tear to dry
He has been faithful
To keep His word
And in the morning
Sends the birds
To give me their songs
Of life and love
And in my yard
The mourning dove
Comes to eat the seed
I put out
To see her feed
God feeds my soul
In the pre-dawn hours
With coffee and prayer
Honey and flowers
I never want
To leave His side
And I know His Spirit
Lives and abides
On this earth it can never
Be better than this
And though when I leave it
I'll certainly miss
The loved ones
I left behind me
But only hope
That they will see
I have gone Home
To be
With the Son and the Father
Who wait for me
And there I'll wait
For you to come
If only you
Too have done
Your part in coming
To Jesus, the Son
