TITLE: My Eyes, Rendered Open By Tara Rolfes 04/02/08 |
|
I see You, You're everywhere
over here, out past there
But, where are You?
Waiting for me to start to care?
Or, in my room, watching me
looking dead in my eyes...
as mine stray away-
my heart searching for yours
as I begin to simply pray..
Pleading for my manic thoughts to be tamed,
It's over now...
Is it over now? Take it away..
All the mess..the confusion
that part of my life..
Secrets covered in shame..
I secretly wish to go back
paint it black, blue
whatever color, or emotion
that will just get me closer to You.
I want so badly for a father
I've simply forgotten all it means
to be an obedient and faithful daughter.
Hold me, rock me...I need Your face
reach down Your magnificent arms
Father, please, take me out of this place.
I'm restless and can't continue to stand,
So, here I am, broken, scattered, undignified
and yet, you reach down in mercy,
to grab me by my fragile hands
stumbling around as though I were blind.
It's only You that can bring forth the light.
In the realms of hope and faith
out of all the love You give tonight...
I want to say I'm grateful
that Your mercy knows no depths, nor height.
