This is from my morning time with God as I was praying about taking on a new venture for Him and I realized how overwhelmed I already am and how sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees and that's why I need Him and His counsel to guide me. I was told to 'Use what you have!" How I need Him to point out the obvious and simple to me!
Less is More 3/18/08

When I pile my plate so high
That I can't see over the top,
I end up overwhelmed,
And the food begins to drop.

I learn and relearn the lesson
That sometimes less is more,
As I watch to food beginning
To pile higher on the floor.

When I start to think greedily,
That I want more and more of things,
I need to stop and ask the Lord
Just what "happiness" brings?

It is not in the striving,
But in letting God be God,
That my joy becomes overflowing
And I want all that I've got.

It is wanting what I have,
Not in getting what I have not,
That peace flows within my soul
And all is well with my God!
