I started my journey with an open mind,
a catholic born and raised.

Like a scientist I wanted to prove,
the truth from our birth through our graves.

I found that religion was just a word,
a confusing cycle of rules.

Do this not that, do that not this,
a nonsense jumble of tools.

So I dug deeper into each faith,
until I came to a common ground.

The basis of life the essence of truth,
and this is what I found.

There are many paths that lead to God,
we create them on our own.

It is not so much the journey,
it is the lessons that lead us home.

If we walk in darkness through the world,
we carry a heavy load.

Burdens through depts that need to be paid,
which makes for a bumpy road.

If we walk in the light and live with our heart,
and surround our thoughts with love.

Our load will be light,
and surround us with sight,
and our knowledge will come from above.
