Thank you for telling me how my first piece speaks to you.
Waiting
January 25, 2007
Waiting.
Corduroy, shag carpet, and paneling.
Waiting.
Young faces. Old faces.
Scared. Ignorant. Hopeless. Stubborn.
Waiting.
How did I get here? Who are these people?
The stories. How many times. I’m going to be sick.
What? Who? Oh yeah, that other name I gave.
No more waiting.
Pause here.
Names. Instructions. Cold. So cold.
Wait.
Lay down. Be still. Just a moment longer.
Wait.
WAIT!
No? It’s too late. NO!
WAIT!
Please, no. Oh, God. No. Wait. Don’t leave.
Wait.
Time.
Has it been that long?
Waiting.
Waiting for life to begin,
The life that ended too soon.
Waiting.
My life died that day,
Waiting for life to end.
Wait.
Breathe, the peace I give.
Wait,
On Me to live.
Wait,
Live life with Me.
Wait.
Eternity.
Time with no end.
Waiting.
Waiting until that day.
The day life will return,
Life that ended too soon.
Waiting.
Waiting for His return. For life to begin.
Waiting.
