This is my very first article. My hope is speak to my fellow Christians and provide motivation and encouragement in serving the Lord.
MISSION MADE POSSIBLE

Believer’s like to talk about God as Lord, Master, especially Savior, but rarely is He mentioned as servant. Yet Jesus described His own mission in these words, “the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many (Matt. 20:28).”

Often we task ourselves with obligations and assignments throughout the church and community that we feel best serve God. This drive to busy ourselves with Kingdom matters, the burning hope to bless the lives of non- believers is not wrong- on the contrary we are instructed to do just that. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (Matt 28:19).” We know that many non believers may never pick up a bible, they may never come to the church- but they will certainly read us. And what are we? We are Christ’s living letters, extensions of His love and grace. Heirs to the most perfect promise and recipients to the most perfect covenant.

Having been called into an awesome love relationship with the Father, it is our gift to bless others as we have been blessed- “that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God (2 Corinthians 1:4).” Our objective then being shifted from ‘what is my mission for the Lord’, instead, what is God’s mission- that I may position myself for His purpose and glory?
Paul cautioned the Church at Corinth about the motives of just possessing spiritual gifts, (1 Corinthians 13), and yes they were a gifted people. But without the right motives their gifts were ineffective to the Kingdom. The same holds true for us today. When we look at our goal of servant hood, we are charged with a great task, and an awesome opportunity to express our love to the One that showed the most exceptional love- death on Calvary’s cross. For we know that, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13).”

So what is our mission then? Through "upreach" our eyes fixated on the one true example. Through "inreach" in our commitment to the development of spiritual understanding and knowledge. Through "outreach" our determination to share the love of Christ with all we come in contact with. Our challenge is great, but our reward is far greater. What shall we say then? LET’S GET TO WORK!
