The Choice

A young girl’s heart is broken and torn;
She’s lost and can’t find her way.
She stumbles and falls along life’s road,
Getting weaker and weaker each day.
Then one day she’s given a second chance,
To turn around and find her way home.
A guide is given to show her the way,
And remind her she’s never alone.
With a new goal in mind she sets off on her journey,
Determined to reach the end.
‘It’s not as easy as it looks’ she soon learns,
For trouble lies just around the bend.
The Tempter is desperate to bring back her pain,
Make her forget what she has just found.
he will do whatever it takes,
Let her lose sight of where Grace abounds.
With the Savior ahead and the Tempter behind,
She has a choice to make.
The rest of her life depends on her choice,
On which direction she chooses to take.
In agony she wonders at the contradiction she feels;
Which one is the right choice?
Should she follow her heart and reach out to God?
Or turn to the Tempter and listen to his voice?
And then a verse that she learned as a child
Suddenly comes to mind,
“When my heart is completely overwhelmed,
The High Rock let me find.”
(Psalms 61:2b)
Suddenly she’s completely 100% sure,
Of the choice she is going to choose.
Jesus is the One for her,
Satan is the one to refuse.
Now this young girl is sold out for Christ,
And mature in her knowledge of Him.
She has learned by now what she did not know,
A life in heaven is more precious than a rare gem.
