At eventide, sunset --
color spill of hues
too soon hides behind
the mountain in my view.
Yet soft streaks reach out,
mingle with misty blue fog.
Glint of gold on snowy peaks
changes to crimson as Sol
weaves his magic.
Here in the desert, the tide
comes in at sunset, then drifts
to seclusion, reflects outward,
ebbs into darkness.
