I. I said with pride, “I am a Christian”
But because of my defeated life,
They smirked and raised their eyebrows
I felt like such a failure
Wondered whether I should leave
The church was stained on account of me

But then I believe the Father, and His mercy is for real
I believe the Son, He came near, reached out to me
And I believe the Holy Spirit, He who lives and dwells in me,
It’s obvious I can’t do it on my own
But by the Spirit I will be… transformed.
II. If Your fruits aren’t seen in me,
It’s because of unbelief
I declared faith but lived like a fake
I was this huge, huge failure
Started thinking I wasn’t saved
Tormented that Your church was stained on account of me

I believe the Son, He’s the Friend who died for me
And I believe the Holy Spirit, He will triumph over sin.
