Before you decide to have a drink,
Take a moment to sit down and think:
'Just what will the consequences be,
If I indulge in a sipping spree?'
Abusing liquor scatters your brains--
Causes you much misery and pain.
Did I forget to mention the shame--
The ridiculing of your good name?
Guzzling whiskey leaves you unwise,
Incoherent results your replies.
The bite of beer assaults your thinking--
Makes you do strange deeds without blinking.
Excess wine robs you of all your friends--
Draws your social life to a swift end.
Your family, alcohol will destroy;
You'll lose respect from your girl or boy.
The bottle will dissolve your career--
Bring about changes that are severe.
Intoxication attacks your health;
Prompts you to forfeit your hard-earned wealth.
Before you support the drinking cause,
Set aside a few minutes to pause.
Decide if drunken pleasure is worth
All the chaos to which it gives birth.
