I Thought

I thought Jesus didn’t hear me
When I called his name
So I called out to some others
But only Jesus came.

I called out to my family,
I called out to my friends,
Again, they didn’t answer
But Jesus did again.

On the inside I was crying
But outwardly gay and so carefree
Full of hurt and disappointment
I felt no one cared for me.

I looked for love where I shouldn’t
Calling out both night and day
Never knowing all the time
That Jesus was the way.

Sometimes His voice gets muffled
When we listen to other stuff
But if we open our hearts and open our minds
We’ll hear Him clear enough.

I thought that Jesus didn’t hear me
When I called on Him
But He did, and He continues to answer
Again… and Again… and Again…
