“Baby Sarah and Baby Samuel are coming home today,” Angela said excitedly. Cheeky and Angela went with Daddy to the hospital to pick up Mommy and the babies. Daddy had told them that they could each pick out a toy for the babies after they got Mommy from the hospital. When they got there, mommy was ready to go. Baby Samuel and Baby Sarah looked so cute in their new clothes. “Mommy, I like the babies’ new clothes,” Angela said. “Yes your Grandma picked out some cute clothes,” Mommy said. “We helped,” Cheeky said.
The nurse wheeled Mommy and the babies out to the car and then got in. Daddy put the babies in their car seats. Angela and Cheeky got in the car and Cheeky helped Angela buckle her car seat. The babies slept all the way to the store. When they got to the store Cheeky and Angela picked out some rattles for the babies and went home.
At home Mommy put the babies in their cribs and then went to take a nap herself. “Daddy, why does Mommy need a nap, she isn't a baby?” Angela asked. “Well honey, Mommy has to sleep because babies sometimes cry in the middle of the night and Mommy has to take care of them,” Daddy said. “I remember when you were a baby,” Cheeky said to Angela. “I had to give up my crib, my high chair, and my car seat because I didn’t need them anymore. Mommy used to let me hold you and she helped me give you a bottle sometimes. When you were sleeping Mommy usually took a little nap too and I had to be quiet. Sometimes I would color pictures and watch TV while mommy was sleeping. Mommy even let me help feed you when you started eating cereal. You used to make a big mess when you ate and I would get the washcloth for Mommy to clean you up with.” “Can I help mommy with the babies sometimes?” Angela asked. “You sure can,” Daddy said.
