Descending from eternity, clothed with flesh and skin
Enter into time and space to dwell with mortal men
Come to give immortal life and haven from the flood
Energized with Heaven’s fire, fueled by guiltless blood

God of everything and place, Creator of mankind
What’s it like to view the world without a sin-plagued mind?
To see the very ones you love rebel and turn on you
Are these creatures worth the pain, the pain that you’ll go through?

Why’d you let their greedy hands nail you to a tree?
Scarred by man’s disgrace, displayed on Calvary
Why’d you let them tear those holes all throughout your skin?
Send down the wrath of heaven, destroy those wicked men

Why’d you let them shove the spear deep into your side?
Did it have to be that way, the hour that you died?
And why’d you let them drive those thorns deep into your skull?
