Eternal Regret
The grim night, never giving into day
Holds claim to my emotion, deed, and thought
The guilt is mine for having never fought
To keep the end from turning out this way
Within this dark reality I'll stay
Knowing that my gun was never shot
And live with what conformity has brought
And wish those things I never dared to say
How short the hours passing between days
How tight a grip must be to keep control
Blessed are those who rightly go astray
And refuse to walk the broad and easy way
They'll find the one who's worthy to extol
Alas, the only way to save your soul
