TITLE: Broken Bird By vicki adams 11/03/05 |
|
A broken bird, transformed for flight
Empowered, lifted; but once more
Lain lifeless on the ground.
I thought I knew,
This triumph told,
We celebrated victory
And spread the news
And held you high
But now you trip and fail to fly.
So where’s responsibility?
Is it my lot to watch you lose?
And tremble as you trickle down
A rotten route of searing shame.
Or should I pull you from this pit
This mire of sinking sin and lies
Or is my role to stand and pray
Helpless, hand-tied, far away.
Where will your current journey end?
Which twisting path your new-found friend?
When will you see the consequence
Of barriers you break and bend?
