The Last Crow
A field of newly planted corn was laid bare by a flock of crows… The field was planted again. As the corn sprouted, a farmer, seeing his crop being destroyed, laid bare half the flock.
The surviving crows stayed in the trees. They watched and waited for the farmer to leave his field, but he just stood there arms open wide. As the corn grew higher, the crows became tired and hungry leaving one crow to watch as the corn ripened.
After some time the lone crow flew down and ate until he could eat no more. The crow perched on the farmer’s hat, resting on the straw man’s head…
Heavy with corn a crow dropped his load and a farmer dropped his last crow.
