LET’S CONTINUE TO GROW
We have been redeemed. It’s time to remove Jesus from the cross, allow him to die and then resurrect, place his blood on the alter and then sit down at the right hand of his Father. Knowing Jesus gives my life a meaning and a purpose. He provides comfort and guidance when I am frustrated. Before I could begin to appreciate Jesus had to take the first step which was to understand that the cross was the death of the old covenant, and Jesus rising began a new covenant. Jesus has redeemed us. Jesus now sits on the right hand of his Father. Continued growth required that I increase my knowledge and comprehension. I had struggled with an understanding of redemption which I did not grasp. I sought enlightment from others but few provided it; therefore began to search the scriptures for myself.
The writer of Hebrews wrote about the need for growth. “Of whom we have many things to say and hard to be uttered, seeing that you are dull of hearing. For when the time when you ought to be teachers you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are such as have need for milk and not of strong meat. For everyone that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness for he is a babe. But strong meat strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. “Hebrews 5:11-14 (New Kings Version)
Continued growth led to an awareness that I have been liberated, and a door has been opened for me to enter and freely worship my Father. Oh the joy of freedom. Not enough emphasis has been placed upon the finished work of Jesus. We are no longer under the curse of the law. We are new creations.
My prayer is that all will understand the purpose of the cross and the subsequent actions of Jesus after his resurrection. This understanding will change their lives as it changed mine. I continue to grow in Jesus Christ. The best has only begun. I hope others will do as I have done.
