I sat at the water's edge as the sun rose higher in the morning sky in Cozumel. I pulled out the luscious orange and peeled my juicy breakfast until I could feel those eyes watching me. I turned to see a little Mexican girl, only about six years old. Her deep brown eyes searched mine as if to say,"I'm hungry. Please feed me because Mama is working so hard and doesn't have a morsel for me to eat." I soon lost my appetite and handed her the orange. "Gracias,"she said as she quickly devoured it. "Thank YOU", I replied, realizing that her simplicity and gratitude had touched me as did those big brown eyes. She taught me that in this beautful world, sometimes the smallest of gifts lie in helping others and receiving the gift of their graciousness to receive our giving.
