In the new subdivision when Ron lives, each house has a grease trap, which collects all grease from the kitchen. Since the houses are not hooked up to city sewer disposal, the house owner must insure that a contractor empties the grease traps on a regular schedule.
There is some problem with the drainage from the kitchen to the tank and Ron’s dad has removed the large cement top from this grease trap and stood it against the house, while he searches for the problem.
The tank is located at the corner of the house nearest the kitchen. Anyway Ron’s dog was not tied up as Dad as directed and for some reason he ran very quickly around the house and was unable to avoid the open grease trap.
He fell into the trap with was near full of very thick stinky grease. Of course the dog could not get out alone. Ron’s dad directed that Ron tell his mom that he must get the dog out of the trap and properly clean him.
Mom gave Ron an old pair of shorts and nothing more. When Ron was finished he was to put the shorts into a sack for disposal.
Ron’s dad instructed Ron to attach the chain to the dog’s collar, so he could not run off and mess up something else. Ron followed the directions, but felt that he was going to die before the ordeal was completed.
First of all the dog did not cooperate with have the chain attached to the collar. Then he did not cooperate with Ron as Ron tried to get him out of the trap. When he was out of the trap he was covered with this thick stinky grease, which was near impossible to remove.
Ron’s mom gave him ample rags. His dad brought the hose pipe. His mom poured dish detergent and shampoo over the dog. His dad hosed the dog. They repeated the process a dozen times before the dog was 90% clean.
Then Ron is required to take a large comb that Mom furnishes and comb the dog over and over. Each combing required a comb cleaning. This was awful to feel and smell.
After several combing Mom poured more shampoo and detergent on the dog, Ron rubbed it in and Dad rinsed the dog.
This was the worse ordeal Ron had ever incurred. Lesson learned! When Dad says chain up the dog, Ron does it quickly.
