a tree
planted
by streams of water
that yeilds
its fruit
in its season
and its leaf

"I am Here,
little one."

"PAPA!
PAPA!"

"Yes,
My PRECIOUS?"

"I LOVE YOU,
PAPA!"

[DELIGHTED CHUCKLE!]
"Yes,
My little precious.
And, I love you!"

"PAPA?
Am I being BORN?"

[DELIGHTED NOD.]
"Yes,
My beloved!"

(Another feisty kick.)
"WHY,
PAPA?"

"I chose you,
to do one little
thing,
for Me."

(Push tiny thumb,
stubbornly,
into tiny mouth.)
"What's THAT?"

"To shake your head,
with conviction."

"What's THAT,
PAPA?"

"Just remember;
when I say so,
I want you
to
shake your head,
very firmly."
[WISE NOD.]
And,
I
will do
the rest."

"What's 'FIRMLY',
MEAN.......
PAPA?"

[BURST OUT LAUGHING!]
"When I command
you to do so,
child,
you will know!"

(Another,
even feistier,
kick!)
"OKAY, PAPA!
WHATEVER YOU SAY!"

[CHUCKLE!]
[GENTLE KISS.]
"I love you,
more than you will
ever know,
My little one."

"And, I love
YOU, PAPA!"

[JOYFUL SMILE!]
"Are you READY?"

(Stubborn kick!)
"You BET!"

[LOVING GAZE.]
[SMILE.]
[PAUSE.]
"Then,
let's go."
