All alone I sat there gazing,
At a dark and starless sky.
I didn't know what I was looking for,
Nor did I know the reason why.
But, I felt a call within me.
It seemed to touch my life's core.
Then I felt a loving presence,
Jesus was standing at my heart's door.

In the light that shone around me,
One thing I could plainly see.
It was the face of my dear Savior,
As He whispered, "Come to me."
He said, "I am here for you.
Salvation now is free.
I paid the cost for your sins,
When I died on Calvary's tree.

I asked Him just why He did.
How He could love me all that much.
I've been so busy with other things,
With Him, I'd barely kept in touch.
He looked me straight in the eyes,
As He gently took my hand.
I love you with my Father's love.
Someday you'll understand.
