"A Cry for Help"

Where are You, Jesus?
Why can't we find You?
Why are we so blind?
We have gone astray,
no longer able to see
the path You laid for us.

Where are You, Jesus?
Why can't we find You?
A nation was founded
on the truth of Your Word,
once so clear and true,
now so diluted and impure.

Where are You, Jesus?
Why can't we find You?
Violence overruns our streets,
innocents die every day.
The cries of the unborn
remain unheard to millions.

Where are You, Jesus?
Why can't we find You?
Even Your Word has become
twisted and meaningless,
while people scorn and mock
You and Your sacrifice to Your face.

Where are You, Jesus?
Why can't we find You?
We turn and pretend,
then turn and blaspheme.
We live as the world,
when we're aliens in this world.

Where are You, Jesus?
We need to find You!
Help us to walk in the paths
that You have set for us.
Help us to climb out of
the pit we've dug for ouselves.

Help us, Lord.
