"The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty." (Proverbs 21:5)
A diligent person is someone who works with painstaking effort. A diligent person makes plans with great thoroughness that leads to success. The person who rushes into an enterprise will suffer loss and come to poverty. I once hurriedly bought a motorcycle against the advice of my father because the dealer gave me a story about someone else coming to buy the bike soon. My hurried purchase was a lemon and caused me to lose money. My haste brought poverty, not profit. Be diligent!
