Salvation is an amazing experience which is offered free to us by Jesus Christ. Each and every one of us should be born again to enter the heaven in eternity. Following are some of the ways by which we can find identify the genuine experience of our salvation
1. After experiencing salvation, we have absolute peace and joy in the heart through the Holy Spirit. Even though we experience trials and tribulations, the peace of God that is above all understanding fills our heart.
2. We begin to hate sin and evil. Before our salvation, we always fed our bodies with passions of the world. We kept sinning to gratify our flesh. Now as the spirit of the Lord resides in our body, we are driven by the Holy Spirit and He gives us grace and power to overcome temptation and sin. We are not interested in dirty/unGodly talks now. We are not interested in any ugly thing. All the past lust and passion has become nothing now and we are only interested in Christ.
3. We have a longing for God now. We always want to meditate on the Bible, like to pray and have fellowship with other believers. Earlier we used to read Bible and pray just for namesake, but now we read each and every scripture with an earnest desire to quench our spiritual thirst. We look into the Bible to lead our daily life, we pray very often for even small things and ask God for help. We are not afraid or worried about anything now as we have put our faith on God
4.We are at peace with everyone. We used to quarrel earlier with our neighbors and family members for petty things. Now we have more patience. We love every one and we forgive others. Earlier we used to give something to others with the expectation of getting back some favors, but now everything is unconditional and given with an open mind. At the end of every day our conscience is clear before God and human beings.
5. We want to share the gospel with others. This is the greatest sign that we are born again. We would never be able to be quiet. We always want to do something for God. We want to share our salvation experience with others. All the worldly things become boring to us and we are only interested in spiritual things.
Let us take some time to analyze our salvation experience. If we lack something, or at fault at something, let us look unto the throne of Grace and cry out to God for help. Be sure that the Lord Jesus is waiting to help us in every area of our life.
