The Nothing

As I beheld the earth
It was formless
It was void
And everyone was wandering through the nothing
Until out of darkness
A light began to shine
The heavens dripped like dew
The stars sprang forth in clusters
Like grapes upon the vine

Then I kissed your lips
As you lay there fast asleep
Yes, I kissed your lips
Then my soul began to weep
So I wept
And you slept
Dreaming in the nothing

My love, Awake!
The Dawn!
Awaken!
Arise!
Be shaken!
Before the stars fall from view
I am weeping for you
And as the heavens drip like dew
My tears are falling,
Into
The nothing.
