A PARENT’S PRAYER

God above, be close … be near …
Be my child’s shield from pain or fear.
Keep her in Your constant care
And let her know You’re always there.

Hold her with Your strong right arm
And shelter her from hurt or harm.
From your hand let nothing snatch her;
If she should fall, be there to catch her.

If she’s ever lost or lonely,
Give her faith to trust You only.
Lead her with Your guiding light
And be her strength to win the fight.

Keep her heart at peace, not worried;
Keep her pace of life unhurried.
Fill her days with joys, not sorrows;
Give her years of bright tomorrows.

By Your blood, You’ve saved and healed her;
With Your Spirit, You have sealed her.
Protect this one whose life’s a treasure,
Provide for her beyond all measure.

A constant blessing since her birth;
A priceless gift of matchless worth.
So keep her safe and well and fine,
Because she’s Yours … Because she’s mine.
