Mom… I often wonder where you be?
Not having you here makes it hard to see.

That the world is still good and there is a lot more to give.
I’m more focused on your absence, then trying to live.

They say you are with God in that great big blue sky.
Then why does you being with Him seem to make me wanna cry?

Couldn’t God see that you were still needed here?
Instead of taking you away where you were no longer near.

Your heart was so sweet and thoughtful to boot!
You reached out your hand to all those that you knew.

Not with judgment, criticism or an upper backhand,
But only with love and kindness towards all your fellowman.

Your friendship that I gained is worth more to me than gold.
I will forever proclaim it; it will never grow old.

For those of you who had a chance to meet this special treasure,
You all unanimously voted that she was an absolute pleasure.

For despite all her pain and unfortunate misfortunes in life,
She remained a solid rock in her faith despite all the strife.

So if you never got a chance to meet my mom that I love so dear,
Remember this…that in time your season will draw near.

For you to crossover into that great vast spiritual plain,
Where all our dear loved ones remain just the same.

It will be there that my mom will be standing with Jesus to welcome you in,
No need for formalities because you will all be like kin.

She will welcome you to her home and ask you to visit a while,
And set you a place for some dinner, which will only make you smile.

For warm hospitality was something she always enjoyed sharing,
For she was funny, delightful and nothing but caring.

So if you get a chance to see her before it’s my turn,
Please don’t hesitate to remind her that I am waiting to learn,

Of all the wonderful things that she has done while she was away,
Cause seeing her again for me, will be one glorious, happy day!

So mom… If God happens to have you on speakerphone,
I hope you can hear me, cause I want you to know…

That I have never once forgotten the time that you were here,
The times you eased my pain and wiped away all of my tears.

The talks that we had until the wee hours of the morning,
That left me feeling refreshed and full of hope after all those painful mournings.

I didn’t really realize until after you were gone,
The strength that you gave that helped me carry on.

So please mom, remember you will always be in my heart,
And I am looking forward to the day that we can have a brand new start.

In a world filled with love, laughter and no more pain,
Something that I prayed for our lives that would always remain.
