Sunday 5/10/09 Pastor Alex's sermon:Tenacious !!

Eph 6:10-18, Genesis 22:1-13, Numbers 12:30, Joshua 3:1-5, Joshua 5:13-14, Hosea 10:12

Definition of Tenacious: To hold firmly, be consistent, to stand firm.

Eph 6:10-18 Stand with the Armor of the Lord!!
There is a battle going on between good and evil everyday. We can watch the News and be very aware that evil is present. What causes that evil is the invisible evil realm of satan. There is a battle going on. God does NOT leave us unprepared to do battle with the devil.

God does NOT want us to feel like we are a failure in the Christian life. He wants us to not give up when we fail but instead to grow, get up and keep on with the Lord. God will provide!!
Genesis 22:1-13 Abraham took Issac to the top of the hill to sacrifice him to the Lord. God instead provided a ram for him to sacrifice instead. God did provide for Abraham and he will provide for us too.

Numbers 13:30 Moses sent spies to see their Promised Land. Caleb was the one who said for them to take the land that God promised to them. Instead the people were afraid and didn't think they could overcome the enemy. They ended up spending forty years in the wilderness. God has a Promised Land for us. If we have accepted Jesus then we are standing at the Jordan River. God asks us if we will cross over into the Promised Land for us. We need to cross over and not spend our life in the wilderness for forty years. God wants us to move across that river. God has promised us deliverance, a city and ground to take back from the devil. God has an inheritance for us. We just have to believe and take it. Don't worry!! Don't be anxious!!

Joshua 3:1-5 Preparation, sanctification before the Lord, before they crossed over the river. God wants to take us across the river to the Promised Land he’s prepared for us. The enemy knows this and is scared because we have the victory thru the blood of Jesus! We have to NOT be scared to go to war with the enemy. God wants to change us to be like him. As God changes us, the enemy will be defeated more and more. This happens as we defeat our feelings of fear, worry and anger. The battle IS the Lord’s.! Not ours. And because God is with us,
WE DO WIN THE BATTLE AND HAVE THE VICTORY!!

Joshua 5:13-14 Joshua sees a man with a sword and asks him are you for me or my adversaries? The man says neither but says he is for the Lord! Our agenda is not going to work. Its God’s agenda that works.
Hosea 10:12 Seek the Lord! We need to be tenacious in our walk with God. If we want victory, we need to do God’s Agenda. We can only be successful doing GOD’S PLAN not ours. Its God’s plan that will defeat the enemy! God will make us VICTORIOUS!!
