Jesus Christ didn't just start His ministry at any arbitrary time. He followed a timetable. That was why He told His mother Mary at the wedding that His time was not ripe to perform the miracle she asked of him. As human beings, and as Christians, our number one objective should be to please God and act in accordance with His will for our lives.

For example, student Christians studying a university course which God wills for them to study should know that at that stage in their lives, that is what God has for them in His master plan. Hence other Christian activities in which they would partake in order to use their talents are secondary. They should not allow other Christian activities which are not God's priority for them at that time to distract them from accomplishing successfully the course which God wants them to do.

In summary, there is something or some things which God wants His children to give their full attention to at every point in their lives. Carrying these out should be every child of God's priority. It is good to engage in other Christian activities, but that should not be done at the expense of the main thing God wants us to do for Him at that given moment. Doing them is directly in line with man's first and fundamental purpose in life, i.e. to love God; which entails following His commands, pleasing Him and acting according to His will.
