MONEY & SUCCESS

Money is a defence and a powerful tool in the hand of every successful man. It answers all things and is indeed a defence for every man who holds it. Since the beginning of its existence, money has changed the lives of it`s holders and is usually considered to be one of the fruits of true success. Hence money and success go together.

Money & Success are governed by laws. The man who puts the laws to use get rich and successful while those that do not put them to use remain poor and unsuccessful. That explains why some men attract success and wealth while others fail to attract them.

In every society, you see the rich getting richer but the poor getting poorer because money is like a current. It`s other name – ‘currency’ gotten from the word current also tells us that. Money flows from one point to another through the process of work. The work of the rich man in moving money from one point to another. He generates a lot of magnetic field that produces a lot of currency and he invest the money. Hence, he gets richer and richer. On the other hand, the poor man`s work does not attract much money. He spends the little he has and gets poorer and poorer.

The great scientist, Isaac Newton confirms the phenomenon when he said - To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction how true. The Holy Scriptures also confirms it where it said – As a man sows, so shall he reap. God is not mocked. He that sows sparingly shall reap sparingly but he that sows bountifully shall reap bountifully. These laws of nature cannot change. These have been so from the beginning when God made them. A man that wants to be rich and remain rich must invest and save his money. He must be willing to buy shares, stocks, bonds etc and invest in buying fixed assets and properties.

Different people value money differently. The poor man sees money as something he has or does not have. The middle class man sees money as something he gets from doing a job. While the rich man sees his money as what he is worth. The value of money thus varies from man to man. Some men see it as the most important thing, desire it with all their hearts and handle it as if it is gold while others handle it with levity and mediocrity.
The knowledge of money is very important. Your thought of money and your knowledge of money are two different things. Oscar Wilde once said – when I was young, I used to think money was the most important thing. Now I am old I know it is. His statement shows his knowledge and value of money. Prosperity comes from having adequate knowledge of money and poverty comes from the lack of the knowledge.

The Holy Scriptures tell us plainly that in all labour, there is profit and it goes on to tell us in another place that if you would give, people would give unto you. In each verse lies a key to success.

The former tells us that there is profit in all labour and that is true. Any man can make profit from his labour. The creator has been so merciful to give us a precious gift called time. With time, you can change a lot of things about your condition and make great gain. Time is like money. In a single day, we have 86,400 seconds to work with. Each second is like a currency. They are meant to be spent. How wisely, you spend them determines your prosperity. A farmer that spends his time wisely on his farm gets prosperity from his farming profession. A man who spends quality time with his wife and children would reap a happy family. Time and chance happens to every man. No matter how smart, strong, skillful, intelligent or wise a man can be, if he does not spend quality time on his work he cannot do much or earn much. Professionals practice and are trained with time. Time is money and the more time you spend on a particular work, the more profit or money you would make (all other conditions being equal). Again, every action brings about an equal and opposite reaction. A man who spends his time asking, would definitely receive. The one who spends all his time seeking would find and the man who keeps knocking would have an open door set before him. For time and chance happens to everyone.

A man who is yet to know his work or purpose in life must set himself on a voyage of discovery. He must know himself, weakness & strength and consciously play down on his weakness and build on his strength. His strength should be his joy and his joy should be his primary work and purpose in life. A man who is not having fun in what he is doing is doing the wrong thing. A man must enjoy his work if he is ever going to succeed in his profession. Love for the job brings joy and joy brings speed and fulfillment.

If you do the things you love doing, you would earn more and spend less time doing the job. You will gain speed and have profit & fulfillment if you do the right things. We are now in an era where talents are highly priced and where the returns on them are very high especially in the fields of sports, entertainment, telecommunications and creative arts etc Therefore every young and promising person should be encouraged to develop and use his or her ability. Bill Gates, Tiger Woods and every other successful people in the world discovered their gifts early and developed it. Today, they are successful and fulfilled billionaires because they do what they love, what they know how to do best and obey the laws of success and money. What you can do, can fetch you money. Doing it with passion and very well can make you successful. You are worth what you can do. Rich men rate themselves that way. The number of problems a man can solve determines his worth. A man becomes a billionaire when his solutions he has offered to the problems he has solved has brought him billions of currency. If you want to be successful, know the problems you can solve and know your worth. Think rich and act rich. Solve the problems, you can solve and make money.
The last key to success I want to talk about is giving. A wise man once said- giving is living. How true. Indeed, without giving, life cannot go on. The world goes round because of giving. Give and it shall be given to you - says the Holy Scripture. How true. For the measure that you give determines the measure that you get back. Giving is connected to love and empowered by love. If you don’t love people, you cant give to them cheerfully. In the course of a research, it was discovered that everything we do in life is done because of love either to get love or to compensate for lack of love. So every man ought to give with love and express his love cheerfully. A Yoruba adage says – The hand that gives stays on top. How true, for a giver never lacks. He remains on top and becomes successful. Because he reaps what he sows. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have a giving habit. They give to charity and today are amongst the top 3 richest billionaires in the world.
