Lord, let me see Your glory—Your holiness—Let my eyes look into the face of Jesus.

Fix my eyes on Jesus. Your face marred for the sin of mankind. Your beard plucked out and bloody—Your hands and feet are pierced. Your eyes are blazing fire. You took my sin—my death.

Fix my eyes on Your unfathomable love for me. They ripped Your back—tore Your body. Jesus, let my eyes and heart be focused on You.

Fix my eyes on the cross where You hung and died for me. You cried out in thirst. They mocked You in Your pain. Your breath became faint and laborious. Your body trembled for life, and finally You cried out “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” Only God can forgive sin, and on You God laid the judgment of all.

Fix my eyes on the few who stayed with You until the end. The few who took Your bruised and torn body off of the tree. The few that tenderly laid You in the tomb, covered You and left. Returning, they forgot what You had said, You would rise again, “O death where is your sting?”

Fix my eyes on all of the angles in heaven rejoicing, “He is not here. He has risen just as He has said.” The glorious light poured out from the heavens declaring You the King of kings.

Fix my eyes on how precious is the body of Christ—how precious was His death—how glorious is His life eternal; forevermore, I will fix my eyes on Him.
