Walking Out of Your Personality
The Roman Road to Eternal Life

Your quality or state of being a person is your personality. Your personality, personal existence, condition or fact of relating to a particular person, the condition of referring directly to or being aimed disparagingly or hostilely at an individual or an offensively personal remark, is characteristics that distinguishes you from another person. Your behavior, emotions, distinction or excellence of personal and social traits also distinguish you from others. Your personality is characterized distinctively by what is important to you, your preeminence, what you are known for or notoriety status in life. How do I walk away from me? All above is talking about who I am and probably wanted to be in life. Now here is the Creator wanting me to be what he created me for, what am I going to do?

This is the question many Christians deal with everyday. The statement this is who I am and I cannot change that, what a cop out. All men are sinners, born in sin but are yet accountable and responsible for their own actions in this life. We must make a change for Christ if we hope to gain eternal life. Paul in the book of Romans tells us about our walk and how we should walk out of our personality and be doers of the Word and not just a hearer. Romans 3:10, as it is written, “there is none righteous, no, not one”. We as the people of God must change our way because pleasing the flesh will not get you into Heaven. No flesh will be justified in God’s sight, for if we are justified then we justified by God himself supplying the righteousness needed for our acquittal. We are all guilty of death, but God sacrificed His Son and His Son sacrificed himself through the shed blood and satisfied the sin death price of man, so who are we to hold ourselves in high esteem?

We are no better today than the Jews of Paul’s day. The Jews thought that they were the favored recipients of God’s oracles. The Gentiles sinned without the law and they both are equally sinners. We are made righteous by Christ obedience and not by any of our own for we come to Christ to escape the curse of sin. Justification runs over your personality and replaces it with sanctification that will overthrow man’s desires and wants. What we escape is condemnation, the blame or censure for our sin that we may explore God’s immutable love and have assurance of salvation.

Romans 10:13, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Giving up your old wayward ways keeps you saved. Somebody said once saved, always saved. Well why does God say he is married to the backslider? A backslider is one that once walked with God, but walked away abandoning the faith; which means that they do not believe as they once did. They forgot God somewhere on the road. Most likely they began to forsake His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes. God is always calling them to come back, but his wrath and power is against them. God strike them as wicked men in the open sight of others because they turned back from Him and would not consider any of his ways. This walk back is a bitter and evil thing, fear is not in them and they have filled their hearts with their own doings. God stand calling everyday for man to return to Him and forsake his own ways. So many people love roaming, wandering off the Roman Road, sinning to please the evil flesh that they reside in this present world.

An evil personality carries a heart of evil and disbelief and will not turn to God. The heart will have to be reformed, restored, and resurrected. Hebrews 6:4-6, it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good Word of God, and the powers of the world to come. If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

We must give up our way and pursue God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and spirit. As believers we must accept that a righteous life typically says that we have put to death our worldly personality and walking in our new birth to a future life of godliness. It also says that we have spiritual significance and devotional beauty. We walk in light, shines in darkness, hates evil, and my mind is no longer blind but I see as God sees for I can learn and is able to come to the knowledge of truth.

On this Roman Road to Eternal Life I am continuously learning to follow anointed man of God that he has placed in my life to bring about the change needed for survival. How you will walk determines what you believe and if you love God or not. Be mindful you will clash with the enemy, he will attack the Christ in you because he does not give up on getting you back either. Become a Word creature, study to show your self approved so you can rightly divide the Word of Truth. Live what you know is right and love living it. Follow all rules and regulations of being a born again Christian. Attend all services set that you may grow and clean up your life from A-Z.
