Hiding From My failure

Looking back on life
It surprises me to find,
How much I hide from failure
Mistakes of every kind.

Accidental pen flicks,
Forgetting of a vow,
Interfering driver,
Lack of know-how.

Angry outburst
Verbal abuse
Lies about my role
Deliberately obtuse.

Pretending to be righteous
Puffed up with pride
Scared of getting caught
Petrified inside.

It all leads to the notion
That I'm a fallen soul,
In need of reparation
Something to make me whole.

Jesus is the answer
He washes out my sin,
Forgives me for my failures
A new life I begin.

Praise the Lord Almighty
Who shows me the way,
Cleanses every failure
And blesses new each day.
