As a child you may have heard
You can't draw or sing
You are stupid
Why did you do that?

You begin to believe them
The words become integrated within you
The people stop saying the hurtful words
But you start saying them to yourself

What is worse, you start believing it
and it went deeper and deeper
until it seemed
to become part of you

Then one day you have
someone who looks at you
Not the you that you see
But the real you

This person saw the gifts
that you didn't even know you had
You say to yourself
Is this true?Are there things I can do?

So, you try a little at a time
You begin to use one gift
and find you like it
Other people begin to see your gifts

Then you try another gift
this time there are challenges
and many barriers yet, you
remember the friend who believed in you

Wow! It works! It really works!
You have created something!
It came from the
deepest part of you

You are pleased
Gradually others see
what you have created
and admire you work

You begin to see other gifts
and develop a relationship
with Jesus which gives you much peace
You are becoming whole

You are not letting the
people who said those things
to you as a child have control
or run your life anymore

You have realized
they had problems and
forgiven them
Yes, even forgiven them

Think back-
What was it that started
you on such a postive path?
Oh yes, the person who believed in you
