The Meaning of Christ’s Resurrection

Romans 1:4 “And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:”

The declaration that Christ is the Son of God rings loud and clear by the sound of the stone being rolled away and the empty tomb beyond that stone.

Romans 4:25 “Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”

He was sent to the cross by His Father (delivered) because of our sins. The power, the authority, that proclaims us justified, proclaims us NOT GUILTY, that announces us innocent and righteous, comes from the resurrection.

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Without faith in the resurrection of Christ it is impossible to be saved.

I Corinthians 15:4 “And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
II Timothy 2:8 “Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:”

The resurrection of Christ is not a fairy tale, or a fable, or a good yarn, it is told as facts from THE WORD OF GOD! People may try to explain it away, they may scoff at it or simply not believe it, but the fact remains that it is God’s Word that gives the account of it and therefore, every word of it is true.

I Corinthians 15:17 “And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.”

No event, no doctrine, no teaching is more essential to the Christian faith, to our salvation, than the resurrection. If Christ’s resurrection did not happen, then everything we believe is worthless. If Christ’s body has rotted to dust after two millennia in the tomb, then, as Christians, our lives are a lie, what we believe is a scam and we have no hope for today; let alone eternity. Christ’s resurrection is the essence of everything we are.

I Peter 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

All the hope and mercy that God bestows upon us as His children is made possible by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
