But Moses said, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.” Exodus 4:13
How many times have you thought or prayed this? I have done so several times in the past year.
When I was a new Christian, I thought I only needed to be in love with the Lord, be in His Word daily, and walk in His ways. In other words, I just needed to be good and faithful in order to receive eternal rewards. Little did I know that my love and devotion to the Father and the Son would mean being stretched beyond my comfort zone.
You see, being in the body of Christ means being His eyes, ears, hands and heart. Sometimes it is required that we see and hear more than we want to and that we have to get our hands dirty and our hearts broken. It is against our nature to want to do unpleasant tasks, but this is God’s way of growing us in His kingdom. We’ll never know His full glory if we keep asking Him to send someone else to do whatever it is that He is asking us to do.
What is it that God has been asking you to do lately? Perhaps it’s time to just say yes. Remember, our Father in Heaven will be with you.
But Moses said to God, “Who am I,…?” And God said, “I will be with you.” Exodus 3:11-12
