It all seems so important
Everything that I spend my life on
The stuff of the world crowds around me
But like the morning mist they’ll be gone
‘Cause everything I see
Is always changing

With my next breath
I’m that much closer to the end
With every breath
I’ve lost a moment that won’t come again
So I’ve got to see, I’ve got to be
I’ve got to know what I’m living for
That all I do is all for You, Lord
In my next breath

I can’t live for the here and now
Help me set my eyes on eternity
Draw me out of the shallowness
Fill my heart with the light of Your glory
‘Cause everything I see
Is always changing

With my next breath
I’m that much closer to the end
With every breath
I’ve lost a moment that won’t come again
So I’ve got to see, I’ve got to be
I’ve got to know what I’m living for
That all I do is all for You, Lord
In my next breath

Remind me that life is short
And every second counts
That I’d make the most of it
And bring You honor somehow

With my next breath
I’m that much closer to the end
With every breath
I’ve lost a moment that won’t come again
So I’ve got to see, I’ve got to be
I’ve got to know what I’m living for
That all I do is all for You, Lord
In my next breath

Job 14:1 – “How frail is humanity! How short is life,
how full of trouble!

Psalm 39:4-5 – “LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered—
how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”
