No welcome home, but dreaded scowl,
He accuses, she pleads for love.
His hateful fists are met with a howl.
Damage begins in the quivering dove.

He kicks around his Adam’s rib
to the dirge of quiet weeping.
Behind walls violence is hid.
Her fear and pain keeps her from sleeping.

He can’t see that she’s a gift,
coming to him with her desire.
His insecurity bears a rift,
fueled by demonic fire.

His warmth is lost, the cold is here,
callous to the fact his heart is damned.
His self-indictment comes all too clear:
He is male, yet not a man.

For a while now I've wanted to write something against domestic violence.

Then I saw this disturbing PSA video with Keira Knightley: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt7JZSrDJA8

As a man I should be appalled at what some men have done, to the point that the existing chasm grows wider between the two genders.

I wanted to express how the sin depicted slaps the face of God's plan between the two, just as men have slapped the fairer gender's face and taken their dignity.

Of course, as in all things the answer is Christ. He best exemplifies true manhood, where one with power uses it to the benefit of the powerless, even when it means his own demise.

This is not how God meant it to be. It's not in His Script.
