3/29/09 Pastor Alex's sermon: Mission Possible!! Eph 3:20-21, Gen 37:5-13

Joseph went through economic downfall like many of us are going through today.

Eph 3:20-21 Jesus can do abundantly above all! We need to EXPAND our possibilities. Think BIG! God CAN do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think. God gave Joseph a mission/dream and God has a mission/dream for all of us individually. Now from this point....go exceedingly, abundantly above what we can think. God will DO IT for all of us!

Genesis 37:5-11 Joseph had dreams, he was favored by his father and his brothers hated him even more. Joseph gets a dream - A BIG dream and God has a BIG dream-the best for us. God wants to get the most, the best out of us.
Now as we get a Mission/Dream from God, theres things for us to expect and get ready for.

**When We Receive A Vision From God There Will Be***

1) Dream Killers: These can be family, friends etc. When we come to Christ all old things are passed away and all things become new. God wants to take us to a place that ONLY He can take us.
Sooo...our family and friends cannot see it.
Dream Killers kill our dreams and the things that God places in our hearts. But God has a plan for us. God has a dream for us that is exceedingly, abundantly about ALL that we can ask or think. DON'T put God or ourselves in a box. Think the possible!!

2) Temptations: As we begin to walk, temptations will come because satan knows exactly where we are weak at. Satan attacks us in places where we've opened the door in the past. Past sins that we've done, forgot, don't do- satan will bring these temptations to destroy us.
Genesis 37:7-10 Potipher's wife tried to seduce Joseph for sex. In the past Joseph used to be quite a ladies man. Potipher's wife being a good looking woman, tempted Joseph even more. Plus Joseph was good looking himself. So when she came on to him the final time, Joseph FLED!! verse 11-13. Joseph later ended up in prison because of Potipher's wife BUT......
The Lord was still with him vs 21.

3) Tests: God is going to test you. Joseph's brothers threw him into the pit and sold him to the Egyptians as a slave. Joseph finally knew how much his family really hated him at that very moment. Later Joseph was in a position of authority in Potipher's house. Joseph was tempted, tested and ended up in jail for doing the right thing by fleeing. Joseph had to be asking God what was going on. Why was this happening to him?
We go through hard times ourselves but we must NEVER give up. Life is tough and we may not see God moving in our lives BUT The Lord is with us!!
Joseph was successful because he would not compromise Gods way of doing things. Joseph stood firm! We must stay firm, stay committed to the Lord's way!
GOD HAS A PLAN FOR US!!!!!!!!

4) Fulfillment: God will accomplish His dreams for us. God will fulfill His dreams for us. God has a plan for us and He will make it come to its completion. We go from glory to glory when we get more like God. As we pass each test, his spirit will overwhelm us. We need to be a people that the love of God is all over us and we can spread the love of God to our community. We need to press into God and realize that God has a dream for us!
We need to ask God what His dream is for us. How can we impact our community? What is God's mission for us? What does He want us to do? We need to get into the Mission Possible that God has for us all. Turn to four people around you and say.........GOD HAS BIG DREAMS FOR YOU!!!
