Peacemakers are the people those who are “counselors of peace”- those who advise, advocate or promote peace. A peacemaker must be neutral, genuine, unbiased, introspective born-again Christian, who himself remembers the awesome grace and manifold mercies of the Lord God Almighty in forgiving his/her sins through the ministry of reconciliation of Christ Jesus that has been accomplished on the cross of Calvary.

Bible declares that, “ God made peace through his Son’s death on the cross and so brought back to himself all things, both on the earth and in heaven. At one time we were far away from God and were his enemies because of the evil things we did and thought. But now, by means of the physical death of his Son, God has made us his friends in order to bring us, holy, pure, and faultless into his presence.” Just as Christ has made peace between God and us: we being His disciples are called to be the peacemakers when we preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to the lost and unsaved souls out there in the world- for “ When one sinner repents for his/her sins, the angles in the heaven rejoice over it.” So when we as the ambassador’s of peace of Christ reach out the world with the message of His love, forgiveness and everlasting life we are been blessed by the Lord God Almighty.

Being Disciples of Christ it’s our honor and pleasure to be known as the peacemakers for one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path will save that person’s soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. We are being encouraged by the Lord to seek, pursue, strive, control and produce peace in our Christian life amongst the body of Christ and outside the church. We are being exhorted by the Lord Almighty to shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace just as Christ came and preached peace to us when were far off from our God the creator; so that through him we all have access in one Spirit to the Father, making us fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household.

Christ has called the peacemakers as His children’s because they produce harmonious relationship between men; between nations; institutes order in the state; establishes friendliness; brings freedom from molestation; harmonizes relationships between God and man, accomplished through the gospel thereby establishing state of soul and mind which encourages the development of the faculties and power indicative of a prosperous relationship between men and God.

Christ being the King of Peace, His kingdom is established and promotes peace and we being His children’s have obligation to promote His peace by preaching the gospel of kingdom of God and by imitating God and produce fruits of righteousness which are sown in peace as we being the peacemakers.

May God Almighty help each one of us to become peacemakers and thereby become His children’s; for we have a high calling placed on our lives to follow in the footsteps of our Lord and Saviour Christ and be transformed in His image and likeness whereby God can be glorified through His Son on the earth as He is in the heaven.

For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. For the one who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by people.
