OUR RISING FRIEND
slowly,gradually but surely
out of the eastern horizon
into full glare of the eye
a gentle glimmer emerges
out of darkness into light
we herald the rise of a great friend-the sun

mother nature stirs
she hurries to borrow from her
once bowed,but waiting
green plants lift their heads
to face thee dear friend
after dusk they had hungered
but now"s time for food

fishes gather momentum
in shaol dance in excitedment
knowing more food is come
as phytoplanktons emerge
fresh dew begins to warm
they rise to embrace the clouds
to return later as great torrents

sleeping dogs leave their knells
cuddling in the open,they whine in excitement
the warmth feels so wonderful
grand ma"s working stick feels for the door
her naked grand sons shriek with laughter
gleefully,they roll about in the sand

our physicians drop a warming news
they tell the value of our rising friend
grand ma does not really care
to hell with their complicated terms tan,bathe,vitamin D,melanin,keratin
she is content only with its cossy feel
our God must be great to create thee
we stand to applaud God"s masterpiece
and hail thee our rising friend-the sun.
