Are comforting to my worldly skin
An ugly deceit I believe

Sex and cigarettes
With each breath of lust I exhale
Bringing me death

Sex and cigarettes
The excuse that I use
Not to surrender to You

Sex and cigarettes
Hold the grip of misery
On my desperate fragile being

Sex and cigarettes
Holding me back
Vulnerable to attack and defeat I am weak

But sex and cigarettes
Are meaningless under the truth
Of your light shining through

My only chance to escape with my life, you wait
Till I call on you to remove far away
The fight that I have no power to overcome

Please intervene and make me clean
Spirit of God that I may not be captive
But free as you say I should be
