Take the cross with the manger.
Can’t have Christ without the danger.
Death gives birth to His true Life
as love is shown in sacrifice.

We’re sinned against, no restitution.
Our kindness met with persecution.
The world sees us all as fools
while Wisdom wears us as her jewels.

Love the Father, hate what He hates,
we’re the object of what Satan prates.
He who’s condemned is he who accuses.
Against us it’s the world he uses.

We walk a line ‘tween earth and heaven,
a spiritual tight-rope, we’re Christ-driven.
Our battleground here, ‘tween heart and mind,
seeking the Lord, yet to sin blind.

Our hope inside’s a living One,
the flesh and blood of the risen Son.
To hear Him say, as those repentant,
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
