There is a hollow,
An empty space I feel,
Deep within my heart,
And I know it’s a void,
That only God can fill.

So, I turn my face to Him,
And lift up my barren soul,
I pray to Him asking;
Take away the emptiness,
Lord, fill up the gapping hole.

He gives me some peace,
Then offers up some grace,
Adds to it His strength,
And now contentment,
Fills up the lonely space.

Now there is no hollow,
My heart is full of God above,
The empty space has vanished,
The void now overflows,
With His merciful love.
