Thunder in the Desert

All: Thunder.
Voice 1: in the desert.
All: Thunder
Voice 2: on the heights
Voice 3: Rolling like an earthquake,
Telling coming might.
Voice 4: He’s not the King you wanted,
Just the King you need.
Voice 5: Son of God, son of Man
Born of David’s seed.

All: Thunder
Voice 1: in the desert,
All: Thunder
Voice 2: in the town.
Voice 3: Crying out the wonder
Almighty God came down.
Voice 4: Though our Scriptures told it,
God would send His King,
Voice 5: You could not unfold it
Without my thundering.

All: Thunder
Voice 4: in the desert,
All: Thunder
Voice 5: in the street.
Voice 1: I’m sent to show the Lamb of God.
I’m sent to make you think.

Voice 2: The way that you’ve been living
Is like a fancy tomb.
Voice 3: Gold and marble outside,
But inside, full of doom.

All: Thunder
Voice 3: in the desert,
All: Thunder
Voice 4: in your heart.
Voice 5: I’m sent to unveil the truth.
Sent to proclaim the start.
Voice 1: The God of all the ages
Is bringing His Kingdom in.
Voice 2: It won’t be one that you can see
All: But it’ll break the power of sin.

All: Thunder in the desert,
Thunder in your soul.
Voices 1& 2: The baby born in Bethlehem
Came to make you whole.
Voices 3& 4: There is no way around it.
God sent me here to sound it.
All: Thunder in the desert,
God’s alive and present.
