My Help

I lift my eyes up through heavenly gates
Where Christ Jesus patiently awaits
I travel to the Holy of Holies place
There I bow down to seek God’s face

All of the heavenly hosts stop to hear
My earnest prayer as it draws near
While my spirit is contrite and broken
In hopeful faith, requests are spoken

I am humbled and open before His throne
Weeping for the Father to atone
Then the Son steps in as propitiation
The very One who gave me salvation

I pour my heart out, so full of distress
My transgressions and sin, I confess
As my burdens lie at His pierced feet
I am shattered, unworthy, incomplete

He says “Father, this little one is mine.”
As His glory and splendor does shine
He cradles me close to His broad chest
Says “Child, God has heard your request.”

I linger there to offer my Lord praise
And to bask in the presence of His gaze
He’s forever my advocate and proponent
And has the power to bound my opponent

I am filled with worship and gratitude
End my prayer time with a new attitude
As His peace, overwhelms me once again
“Come back soon, Child” I hear. ~ Amen ~

Psalms 121: 1-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
