Scraped Knees

Folded Hands

And

Prayers on Wings...


These are words I would share with you to challenge you as I am challenged in my daily walk with God...It is so that we each are challenged in this world and that we each fall down at times and scrape our knees so to speak...It is in that reality that I encourage you as I do myself to fold your hands and pray before you pick yourself up...I am too reminded in this how we all fall down because we all share the same human condition...


May it be that I can always remember in my lowly position when I have fallen to fold my hands and pray before I raise myself to walk again...

So it is that in my prayer within my knowledge of my humanity that this is where God knows that I understand that He is the one who made me, He is the one who will help me get up, and He is the only one who can answer my prayers...First, I have an obligation to fold my hands and pray as I find myself injured...God, I feel sure, answers often based upon our prayers...In this reality, it is my goal to send my prayers on wings in air to Him; for He is my heavenly Father...Above all else, He is my creator and has a love for me that man will never attain...


I am a great admirer of C. S. Lewis and all for which he stood...I can see in the love he had for his wife Joy not only the struggle but also the joy...Out his greatest love came his greatest pain...So it is that we as human beings are in a state of continual ectasy and suffering...Therefore, it is a choice that we can make in that we come to realize that yes we fail, yes we do succeed, and all that is good rest solely in God's touch and direction...I am certain that He as our Father is saddened with our scraped knees, does cleanse our wounds, and bandage our painful hurts...I know too though that He has a loving touch and out-stretched hand that will help, protect, and guide me if I will only reach out...The reaching out for me is through my continual connection to Him through prayer and acknowledgment of His infinite presence and power...Through my prayers on wings, I believe God hears my plea and recognizes the tender/injured voice of mine for I am His child...

May you reach forth with your hand when you find yourself with scraped knees, fold your hands in prayer as you talk with God the Father, and envision your prayers as they soar on wings to the ears of God...For there will be God's ever-present tender touch, healing hands, and pure love that will make your scraped knees better...It perhaps is through our scraped knees, I think, that we are reminded that we are merely mortal and in eternal need of God...
