Woe to him
who strives
with his
Maker,
an earthen vessel
with the
Potter!
[Isaiah 45:9]
*********************
"I'm a big waste,
Lord."
(Chin on palm.)
(Sigh.)
"I'm just a big WASTE!"

"Why,
child."

(Ornery squint.)
"What d'Ya MEAN?
YOU know I'm a
big WASTE!"

"I don't know
any such thing,
My child."

"Aw....come ON!
'COURSE,
You're gonna SAY that!"

[PATIENT GAZE.]

"You're .........
Ya know!"

[SMILE!]
"Who,
child?"

"Ya know."

[QUIET VOICE.]
"Who."

(Kvetchy frown.)
"That's not ...the POINT."
(Frown up at ceiling.)
"The point is......
that I'm a big WASTE!"

"Child,
Who AM I?"

(Shrug.)

[LOVING GAZE.]
"Who AM I."

(Philosophical shrug.)
(Fiddle with mouse*.)
(Squirm.)
(Frown.)

[TENDER VOICE.]
"Tell Me."

(Frown.)
(Shrug.)
(Look away.)
(Pout.)

[PATIENT SIGH.]
"First,
My beloved;
you must find out
Who
I AM."

(Ornery squint at ceiling.)
(Yell up at ceiling fan.)
"Then, WHAT?"

"That's It."
*********************
Does the clay
say to Him
Who fashions it,
'What are you making?'
or
'Your work has no handles?'
[Isaiah 45:9]
