GET OUT THE BOX!

Do your utmost. Strive for excellence. Make a difference. But first you got to get out of the box! I hate seeing folks in a box and I hate folks trying to put me in one.

It’s time for breakout!

I got to breakout because there is too much junk in that box I have to get away from. If not, the stuff in the box will suffocate me. I have to stop letting unforgiveness corner me. Anger is always trying to trap me. Pride is forever throwing out bait and jealously is trying to tempt me to stay green with envy. And selfishness, that just lives and thrives in the box.

The more you live in the box, the more selfish you become – and more miserable. Remember this life is not about you. People are deceived into thinking that the more they do for themselves the better their lives become. But look at the happiest people: those whose life matter to others. Those who live their purpose by being a vessel of the Lord.

A lot of people are delivered from the devil, now if they could get delivered from themselves! “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others (Philippians 2:3-4 NIV).”

Breaking out of the box requires a lot of things but first it required getting fed up with box living. Here are some box-breaking-out strategies guaranteed to liberate you:

1. Take risks. Get out of that “comfort zone” that causes you to be comatose. What good is life if you’re dead on the inside? Don’t be so afraid of making errors that you never try anything new. As the old adage goes, “I’d rather try and fail than never have tried at all.” Don’t settle for less than God’s best.
2. Be bold. Have the courage to step out. God has a good plan for your life (Jerm. 29:11). By trusting Him you can muster up the faith to “let go and let God.” Place your confidence in Him. First have faith then take that leap! Believing and trusting God is the foundation to knowing you are more than a conqueror and you can do all things through Christ.
3. Be original. Don’t follow the crowd; follow the Holy Spirit. “Because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God” (Romans 8:14). Your creative energy comes from the Creator. Honor Him and He will give you divine ideas and strategies to get out of “boxed in living.”

I strive to live my life by this. We have access to this “get-out-of-jail-free” method. No matter what is boxing us in, know that the keys have been given to you. Jesus Christ died on the Cross to give us eternal life and wants us to live an abundant life now – not mediocre, comatose, bitter lives. He has valuable treasures for you now. Open up your present! It’s in the box. Receive His gift to you because He loves you. Always have and always will. 3/08/02
